EDAPHON

Purpose : Artificial and perfumed underground garden
Installation : Immersive path through the scenography
Perfume : HUMUS by Paul Guerlain
Year : 2023 - Barn of La Maladrerie Saint-Lazare, Beauvais

Abandoning the well-known, expected visions of a classical garden, this installation invites you to enter the depths of the underground and discover a garden beneath the earth. A monochromatic world created by the union of two plant materials, Sisal fiber and paper, Édaphon is an ode to origins and the invisible—an homage to the invaluable life of the soil, the precursor to the first sprouts.

This immersive installation, enveloped by thousands of paper-captive seeds, invites the visitor to adopt the scale of an ant and wander through the paper paths and reflections, where they will encounter a chimera, half-animal, half-plant, that has taken residence there.

In this imagined, floral, and organic world, a fragrance created for the landscape work accompanies the visitor, adding the essential olfactory presence so deeply connected to the garden.
